Help me give my students the latest books in their favorite series, including "The Terrible Two's," "The Odds," "Narwhal and Jelly," "Science Comics," and "The Unicorn Rescue Society."

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember getting hooked on a series of books as a child? Think of the anticipation and excitement you felt waiting for and then finally reading the prized next installment in your favorite series. My students share that excitement and joy of waiting for and then finally devouring the newest books in their favorite series.
My students are book-loving, avid readers, and enthusiastic learners.
Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. As English language learners, books are so important to my students and are truly valued. I am the librarian at a K-8 elementary school in an impoverished urban area. Our school library is an essential resource for my students. Many of my students do not have access to books at home and rely on our school library to check out high-quality books. Each day my students inquire when the newest books by their favorite authors will be added to the library and if they can be first to check out these books. There is a buzz about books and an excitement for reading in our school.
My Project
I am requesting the latest books in many of my students' favorite series, including "Gone," "Survivor Diaries," "Science Comics" "Last Kids on Earth," and "Nevermoor." My students first turn to these series when checking out books. It is amazing to see the excitement and enthusiasm of students anticipating the next book in a series, ready to discover what adventures their favorite characters will embark on and what happens next. These series have been well read and loved by so many students over the years and many more students are waiting to discover what happens next in these new installments. This project will add the newest and latest books my students have been waiting for in their favorite series.
These books will captivate, inspire, and continue to develop my students' love of reading, a gift that will last a lifetime.
It can be quite challenging to keep up with these yearly new additions to series without a school library budget. As a result, I turn to grants to keep our library collection up-to-date to meet the many reading interests of my students. With your support of this project, we will be one step closer to creating the library of my students’ dreams with shelves full of new adventures to discover in new books. These books will bring so much excitement to my students and will continue to cultivate their love of reading. Thank you for supporting my students and our school library!
