My Project
As a bilingual 5th-grade teacher and a former graphic designer, I want to empower my students to learn visually and creatively. Many of my learners are English Language Learners, and they benefit tremendously from clear, vibrant visuals—especially when they’re in both English and Spanish.
Too often, my students go without the visual supports they need simply because bilingual resources are hard to find, or there aren’t a lot of high-quality examples.
Without access to these tools, they miss out on a powerful way to understand and connect with what they’re learning. That’s why we’re creating our own—turning our classroom into a bilingual gallery of anchor charts and student-made art, made by them, for them. That’s where this project comes in.
With the Epson EcoTank ET-15000 printer, we’ll be able to create custom, wide-format posters (up to 13” x 19”) for everything from math vocabulary to student-made art celebrating cultural and historical events.
My goal is to transform our classroom into a visual, bilingual learning gallery—where learning is not just read or heard but also seen and felt.
Best of all, students will get to design and create their own posters—building digital literacy, visual communication skills, and pride in their culture and language.
