This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Imagine you are a brand new kindergartener to a brand new kindergarten teacher and you want to show off how much you know about literacy? Well that is the case in my classroom right now! This is my first year teaching. I teach in a very high poverty section of New York! I have the best class ever!
My students have very bright imaginations!
They can tell me verbally what and how they are arriving to their answers, but they need some support. I would like for my students to receive literacy games, math manipulaitves as well as materials to be creative in showing off their understanding especially of the kindergarten Common Core Learning Standards.
My students come from very hard and trying backgrounds. It is especially challenging being a new teacher and trying to reach every child with love, compassion and information. My students would be so grateful to have materials where they can build, showcase and produce projects to help others to see what they see.
My Project
With your generosity, my wonderful kindergarteners will be able to build with magnatiles, retell stories with collage materials, write and draw sentences with construction paper, read and spell with CVC games. This can only happen with your support! With your generous assistance, my students can create projects and give me that data I need as their teacher to move them along in their learning process.
