They had never used a Listening Center before! But now, the Listening Center has become quite a popular place. \r\nSo many skills are taught in the Listening Center such as counting. The kids enjoy listening to counting songs most of all. It is their favorite Tonie. \r\nIn addition, socialization skills. When both headphones are being used by two children at the same time, the incoming child must practice patience and recall the words they learned, \"Can I have a turn after you?\". And so the kids are learning to ask for what they need, wait their turn patiently, and share! \r\nIndependence skills are mastered too. Our three year olds independently make the choice to come to the Listening Center, put headphones on, place the Tonie character on the box, and make themselves comfortable for a while. \r\nAll these skills at three years old! The snacks you so generously contributed have become a vital part of our daily routine. With lunch not until later in the day, from 12:40 to 1:30 pm, we offer snack time to keep the students energized and focused. The variety of snacks you provided allows the students to pick something they enjoy, which has made them look forward to this time and complain much less about being hungry before lunch. They are so grateful for the snacks, and it has brought a positive change to our classroom dynamic.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the snacks, their reactions were pure excitement! It was clear how much it meant to them, and many shared how thankful they were for the thoughtful gesture. The enthusiasm in the room was palpable as they eagerly chose their snacks, and it truly made a difference in their day.\r\n\r\nAs for what's next, we are currently working on a project that involves learning about nutrition and healthy eating habits. The snacks have sparked great discussions about making good choices, and as we continue our project, the students will explore how different foods impact their energy levels and focus. We're looking forward to incorporating this knowledge into future lessons, and we'll be sure to keep you updated on their progress!\r\n\r\nThank you again for your support, which has made such a positive impact on our classroom and students.","fullyFundedDate":1735141534587,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-for-my-class/9014441/","projectTitle":"Snacks for My Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Morel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9879782_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1752622321408","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9879782"},{"teacherId":8719217,"projectId":8768166,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your donations! The variety of materials that we received from this project continue to make a great impact on our daily lives. \r\n\r\nIn first grade, students are just learning how to express their ideas in writing. We teach them to write in different genres, such as narrative, informational, and opinion writing. The Writing Process Folders that we received are helping students to learn more about the steps of the writing process as they organize their writing planners and drafts. The fun pencils are am added incentive! \r\n\r\nIn math, students are learning to add and subtract within 20, and they are also learning to solve word problems. The pop-it 10- frames are an engaging math tool to help them add and subtract. Students feel like they get to play with cool toys during math! We haven't used the comparing alligators yet-- they will be introduced in an upcoming math unit. I can't wait to see their excitement! \r\n\r\nI almost forgot-- rhe social- emotional learning discussion cubes and play- doh are a great addition to our cozy calming corner! There are just so many great materials that are contributing to a joyful learning environment! And it's all because of generous donors like you.
