My students need 6 wobble chairs to help them to focus when working at a table. Many of my students need movement when learning. These chairs will enable them to move.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

A typical day in my classroom involves a lot of group work and movement. Because my students are working in groups, stations, and centers throughout the day, they are seated at various places in the room. You will see energy, but see a lot of learning.

My students enjoy school, and are truly sad when they are not there.

My school is a Title I school. Around 70% of the students are on free and reduced price lunch. Many students come from single-parent homes, where they do not always get the support they need.

My Project

I envision these wobble seats will be used at my table when working with groups in reading, writing, and math. I also see these seats to be used with those particular students who exhibit hyperactive behaviors. The movement that these seats give will help my students focus more on their task.

This project will help reach those learners in my room who need to move a little more than others.

It will enable them to have that movement that they need to learn without distracting all the other students.
