My Students
My students love to learn. They are very curious and are always asking questions. I want to ask them questions, too.
Using white boards, they can answer my questions individually and I can check for prior knowledge.

My Project
Save the trees.....using white boards will give me instant feedback when I have my students solve problems on their own. I can glance across the room and check for understanding immediately. Those who are correct can become peer coaches. They can also use the boards for rough drafts.
Using the white boards will give me instant feedback.
I will see who needs help immediately and be able to assign a peer coach. I will also be able to give the children an opportunity to see each others' work. The children can create word problems on their white boards and then move around the classroom from desk to desk reading each others work. I would play music and initiate a game like musical chairs to have them move in order. Using white boards would give my students the ability to move and write on a bigger surface too. It's important to change mediums for variety and to keep their interest level piqued.
This project is important because my students will benefit from my intervention and the ability of their teacher seeing when they need assistance.
I can immediately know who is having difficulty with a concept and come to that student's aid, either one on one with me or with a peer coach who knows what to do. I especially value the children teaching each other. The best way to learn is to teach.
