Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Let our voices be heard to the entire school and bring life to our recordings.
I believe that any student from any background can achieve great things.
I teach at South Central Los Angeles where crime, divorce and chaos exist, however, there is no excuse for failure. I come to work every day expecting the best from each individual and the students know that. I challenge them to the limits and they respond to the challenge. My students know I care for them, and that I respect them as people. I am currently the grade level chair, Gifted and Talented coordinator and I'm the UTLA chair for my school. I have many responsibilities and I am constantly searching for free professional developments that will help me grow as a professional and individual.
My Project
I plan to attend District wide workshops to improve my teaching methods. I will use my iPad with the microphone to record some of the sessions I will attend. The workshops that I plan to attend and record will be on robotics, coding, and how to help the gifted students in my classroom with differential instruction. I will use the microphones to record the lectures and gain knowledge. I will use my laser pointer when I present any information in my grade level meetings.
These microphones and laser pointer would make such a difference to me and my professional growth as an educator.
It will help me become a better teacher by recording some great instructors during School District workshops.
