My Project
The educational landscape is becoming increasingly diverse, with special needs students comprising an integral part of the student body. These students often require tailored strategies to support their learning and development, particularly in crucial areas such as reading progress. Motivational tools, such as read-to-self phones, Play-Doh, and Pop-Its bolster the reading progress of my special needs students. These tools not only address the unique learning needs of these students but also contribute to a more inclusive and effective learning environment.
Personalized Learning: Motivational tools empower educators to tailor instruction to individual student needs, ensuring a more personalized and effective learning experience.
This project includes a wide variety of tools my students will be able to utilize to grow in their reading skills. One example of these tools is the Read-to-self phones, which enable students to listen to audio recordings of text, play a pivotal role in supporting special needs students' reading progress. For students with reading disabilities or challenges, such as dyslexia, auditory processing disorders, or attention deficits, these phones offer an alternative way to engage with written content. By providing auditory input, read-to-self phones help students comprehend the material more effectively, potentially bridging the gap between their reading level and their comprehension ability. Moreover, the use of these phones instills a sense of independence, as students can engage with texts on their own terms, thus fostering a positive reading experience.
