Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are young and eager to explore the world around them! I teach Pre-K 3 to eighteen wonderful and creative students who spend the majority of their day learning through play! From singing songs, to building, coloring, and even painting, my kids are on the move and showing their growth in the most miraculous ways.
My school is full of passionate teachers, who work diligently every day to engage and scaffold instruction and play so our students become leaders.
Through their leadership, we can have a better tomorrow!
My Project
Having a text-rich environment is important in any early childhood or classroom with students from a different language. Having these books available in my library will offer students a classroom full of print that is relatable and fun to read. The solid pages of the board books also makes make it easier for our fingers to turn them.
Some of us are not ready to be reading whole words yet but some of us are!
For those of us that are not, we can still practice pre-reading skills by looking at pictures, telling our own story, and using our letter sounds!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
