Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am tasked with the pleasure of teaching enthusiastic, third-grade students in all subject areas. These students are curious, intelligent, and creative beyond all measure. They attend a Visual and Performing Arts Magnet school in Los Angeles. Since our school is an Arts Magnet, we try to integrate art in all forms into as many subject areas as possible. The students at this school come from various backgrounds with various life experiences. Funding for some of our materials is difficult to come by. I appreciate you coming to our page and would appreciate any support you could give.
My Project
HELP! Our classroom rug is old, stained, and not appealing to look at, or sit on. We need a fresh, clean, and colorful place to sit in our classroom for certain school activities. We sit at desks for many daily activities but we come together as a class on a rug throughout the day for class projects and conversations. One very important thing we do on the rug is come together for class meetings to build a strong community. We discuss feelings, hopes, dreams, and try to build positive self-images at the same time. I could imaging growing a strong community on this colorful and visually stunning classroom rug.
