This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are VERY energetic and they love science. They especially love learning about the outdoors, of nature, and growing things.
These unique items will support my students' love for growing their own food and plants and in their understanding of the concept of using less space by using vertical gardens - they also want to use this concept as a means to reach other younger students so they are creating some unique platforms including a vertical garden of dump trucks!!
My kids live in our science world in the classroom. We have a green outdoor space and we grow our own food inside our classroom in the winter. We have grow lights where we are presently growing spinach and other plants. They have now taken this love for growing, gardening and ecology to a new level and want to build their own unique vertical gardens to attract other young people. Changing their diet and the way they look at organic, home grown food will change their lives and improve their health.
