Let it Flow Water Tower

Help me give my students more autonomy using a water tower to complement our stem inspired outdoor water troughs!

My Students

I have nicknamed my school as the huggiest school in the South, my students are very loving! I serve as the art teacher for a small, rural, Title I school in South Carolina. Many students are qualified for free and reduced price meals, and several take-home meals for the weekends. I am currently trying to create an outdoor classroom that is close to my art room, so many of my requests will be serving that goal.

My Project

My students would be so excited to access water for themselves instead of waiting for me to turn on the outdoor garden hose with a special key. Providing a water tower would promote cooperation with others and independence in problem solving, two skills so desperately needed in today's landscape. Students learn while doing so the water tower would be the perfect addition to our ever evolving outdoor classroom. Students are always begging me to go outside to use the water troughs in creative play, so the water tower would be the cherry on top!
