My Students
My children are blended regular education and special education 3, 4, and 5 year olds. They have unique personalities and are navigating the world of prekindergarten. They are thrilled to explore new learning on a daily basis. Recently, we made predictions on whether certain items would sink or float. My children grasped the concept so quickly that I squeaked with delight! Watching them learn and how they process new learning is the thrill of a lifetime for me as their teacher! My children are very loving, nurturing, and helpful to their classmates. I watch with pride as some of them take on the role as peer tutors. I listen attentively as they remind one another of the classroom rules and also as they display classroom behavior expectations. My children are all exceptional, delightful, and come each day ready to learn.
My Project
LEGO bricks and a LEGO farm set will help develop my children's problem solving skills. Children will learn how to work collaboratively to construct LEGO creations while also developing their fine motor skills. My children need to enhance their learning through the availability of STEM materials in our classroom. My students do not have ample opportunities to use higher order thinking skills to plan, construct, and play with manipulatives in the Science Center. I know that having LEGO bricks and a LEGO farm set will provide my preschool classroom with fun and valuable Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math learning throughout the day.
