My Project

The goal of this project is to give opportunities for first graders to enjoy various genres of literacy including fiction, realistic fiction, biography, and informational texts at school. It not only supports students to explore multiple genres and have fun reading books, but students can also continue developing reading skills such as retelling and summarizing stories in their own words and organizing and describing facts in class. Ordinary People Change the World Series will help first graders to learn about historical figures who contribute our communities to be a better place, and it will be a good resource to initiate a group discussion with open-ended questions after reading.
