This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The debt facing Philadelphia schools is directly affecting every school in Philadelphia. Whether it is a public, private, or charter school, money is dwindling away for basic school/classroom supplies. I have an amazing group of students. They are smart, focused, and want to achieve great things.
I love my 5th grade students.
They are truly smart and focused! I work in a school where 90% of the students are economically disadvantaged and most of the students receive free lunch. Despite these disadvantaged my students still work hard and take pride in their work. My students know the importance of education and I try to give my students what they need in order to live successful lives.
My Project
My classroom has a good amount of space, but nothing on the walls so I can hang student work. My students love showing off their work! I love that they feel proud about their accomplishments in school, especially when most students do not receive praise for their efforts at home. I am not asking for much; a bulletin board, bulletin board paper, and borders to beautifully display classroom projects and tests. I want students to know that their hard work is recognized.
Your donation to my project will give my kids something special for the entire school year and for years to follow.
They will always be able to hang up their work that they are proud of. I want my kids to always feel proud of their hard work and I want the whole school and parents to know it.
