Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from the Southeastern corner of the Land of Enchantment (New Mexico). Our scholar population consists of a diverse economical background enriched in multicultural influences. Learning styles and needs are just as diverse and met to enhance their learning.

Regardless of the barriers, obstacles, and needs of each scholar, their learning needs are met and their views on life are expanded through the learning experience in my classroom.

We are viewing and learning the wider world of science!

My Project

Water is the most precious resource for all living things. Clean water is most important for humans and its availability is not always easily found. The unavailability of clean water can be incomprehensible unless you have experienced it personally.

Learning about water shortage struggles by reading "The Long Walk to Water" will not only introduce scholars to the struggles of locating drinkable water, but also open their eyes to the struggles of the Lost Boys in war torn Sudan.

This text will open doors to scholars in the sciences and deepen thinking to improve and possibly provide water in shortage areas around the world. Scholars will complete a science novel study in Google Classroom answering and completing various lessons. Scholars will also experience a Google Lit Trip following the characters trek through Sudan to find water all while experiencing war torn areas through the use of Google Earth. Collaboration with other scholars in researching the best and inexpensive method for filtering water in areas will also be a key component of this unit and each collaboration team will present their research.
