Mrs. Newley from Phoenix AZ is requesting educational kits & games through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students frog dissection kits and owl pellets for dissection to assist them in understanding and appreciating the complexity of living organisms.

My students are from an area of low socio-economic class. Their families work hard, sometimes two jobs in order to support the children that they love. Their families speak many different languages, and many have come to the United States under refugee status, yet despite these challenges they strive to make the best possible for their students.
It is difficult for me to describe all the wonderful things that makes my kids special in just a few paragraphs.
Not only are they dedicated to their families, academic studies, and outside jobs, but they come to school with a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn.
Throughout the year, my 10th grade biology students have been learning about living organisms and how they interact with all the different factors in their environments. As we start the new semester, the students will be digging deeper as they explore how plant and animals are organized and how this organization has helped them survive.
With your support, my students will be able to experience and build appreciation for how complex and interconnected living organisms truly are.
The owl pellets will be used to support our ecosystem unit from first semester and provide time for the students to practice using the dissection tools and their observational skills before working on the frog specimens. As my students work in teams to follow dissection procedure for the frogs, I will emphasize respect for the specimens and highlight the anatomical similarities that we share with them.
