Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

For the 2021-2022 school year, I have the privilege of working in our school in N.B., Connecticut.

I have 21 students ranging from 4-6 years old.

Each child comes into Kindergarten with their own range of abilities and skills. Some children do not attend Pre-K whereas others go to a 3- and 4-year-old program.

In my classroom, I have students with Special Education services, Speech and Language Services, and English language learners.

My Project

Art may seem like fun and games and it is, but you may not realize that students actually learn a lot through creating Art.

When we encourage our children to explore Art materials, we encourage them to master themselves, and a variety of tools and techniques.

My Kindergarteners will hold a paintbrush so that it will make the desired marks, cut and snip paper with scissors into definite shapes, draw with crayons, and stencil shapes in a controlled manner all to help develop fine motor skills and control materials.

By adding these Art materials into my classroom, my students will be able to independently create whatever comes to their mind during their intentional play center time. As their teacher, I will be using the construction paper, paint, paint brushes, and crayons for students to make Holiday take home Art projects for their families to enjoy together.
