This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in a Gifted STEM Magnet. Most of my students are high achievers and highly motivated. However, over the past few years, as a result of COVID and distance learning, my students are spending way too much time staring at a screen. The only way I have thought to combat this is to return to paper copies. This requires paper and ink. While I will not return to 100% of lessons online, I want to find a healthy medium that can alleviate some of the time my students spend staring at their computer screen. I believe this will help them concentrate more than they currently are.
By donating to this project, you will help me purchase ink for my classroom printer and markers for my white board.
Both of these resources will allow me to give students a break from their screen and to return to traditional methods of teaching. While technology is a big part of current educational practices, the truth is that sometimes students need a break from all of that technology. However, I cannot provide students this break without access to printers, paper, and ink. This project will help me do just that.
