The young leaders at Yale Elementary School would like to heighten their ability as photographers so that they can capture the culminating events of the Yale Leadership Club. The Yale Leadership Club will be taking a trip to Washington D.C. in late May. Students will be required to document their trip through writing and through photographs. They will be presenting their experience through a Power Point presentation to their peers and their parents as well as the faculty from Yale. In order for students to be most solidly equipped to document their experiences, we would like to acquire two-three digital cameras for our trip. We would also like to have a way to develop the photographs that are captured on our leadership adventure. There will be 15 students traveling to Washington D.C. For the first time in most of their lives, they will be traveling by airplane, staying in a hotel, traveling out of state, and meeting noteworthy leaders in our nation. The moments that they capture WILL be priceless! As a sixth grade teacher, I will have the opportunity to take some of my students as well as other students in 5-8th grade on a journey of a lifetime through Yale Elementary School's Leadership Club. With your donation, these students will capture memories that can be shared through the Internet when they are downloaded, or viewed through a Power Point scrapbook. Not only will students be enhancing their photography skills, they will also become familiar with computer technology as they save, edit, create captions for and print their pictures. I want my students to have the best experience possible as they travel to Washington D.C. With this camera, students will be able to have documentation of the numerous "firsts" in their lives.
