No matter the struggle, our student-athletes always find a way to stay positive. We live in a highly impoverished area with few extra-curricular opportunities outside of school. We have little equipment, our uniforms are outdated and well-worn, and this is the first time a majority of our team has been able to participate in a sport. Despite these obstacles, they persist.
Our girls are high-achieving, go-getters with a never give up attitude.
They do not let a losing score impact their attitude. They walk away from every game with their heads up and a smile on their faces. They continue to put their best effort forth every minute of every practice and every game. They deserve the best.
My Project
On our middle school soccer team we emphasize the three Ts: Tenacity, teamwork and touch. They are experts on working hard, staying positive and supporting each other. But our goalkeepers have a difficult time being confident using old, worn gloves that aren't great quality.
We need soccer goalkeeper gloves with finger spine protection to keep their hands safe in front of the net.
Without good-quality gloves, our student-athletes risk serious injury to their hands while protecting our goal. For all of our goalkeepers, this is their first experience playing in a competitive game setting. We want it to be as positive and safe as possible. Four pairs of gloves will help cover all three of our teams.
