My students are just learning about programming and robotics.
MHS has one of the most unique programs in the state.
We combine programming and robotics into one class so that students can learn the basics of both. We have students from all ethnic backgrounds. Our classes are open and accessible to all students of all kinds. We currently have 120 students enrolled in our intro class and 55 enrolled in our advanced class. We will get approximately another 150 students next semester.
My Project
Due to Covid 19 we had to stop our mentoring programs. We were one of the few programs in the state to mentor to special needs students once a week in our school.
We would like to start that mentoring relationship again!
These LEGO sets allow each general education high school robotics student to be paired with one special needs student to build and compete lego robots. This is a great opportunity for all students to learn and grow together in STEM and empathy. The teams will create a team name and logo as well as chants for the end of the semester challenge.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
