Creativity is the key! I want to see the creativity that I can bring out in some of my kids while solving problems.
My students are 4th graders who come from low income families.
The school they attend is around 95% free or reduced price lunch. The kids don't let their socioeconomic status affect their quest for learning. The students are eager learners and have a love for school which, for many, is the only consistent part of their lives. This group of kids can't wait to see what will be next, and they want a great education.
My Project
My students will use the Legos to manipulate into shapes and figures. They will use their creativity to follow images that they have seen to try to recreate them. The students will also use the Legos during some of the STEM science activities that we do during the science block of our day. The students will work with Lego Robotics to work through problems that will cover concepts in math and in science. I want them to use their creativity as well so that not everyone has to come the same route to get the solution. The projects can reflect the individual.
Your donations will help improve my classroom by giving my students an outlet for their creativity.
They will also gain valuable problem solving skills and will have fun while being able to do it. My students will remember these lessons because they are hands-on and intriguing.
