This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of the connections between neurons in the brain are made during adolescence. Studies have shown that those who are shown love, given adequate care, and have a variety of experiences and opportunities from a young age have more neural connections in the brain. Many of my students grew up without those opportunities and I don't want them to miss out on them anymore. Despite extreme challenges, my students are driven, want to succeed, think critically, and are curious about the world around them.

My students continue to be inspired to change the world and realize that their individual, daily actions impact their community!

I would like to provide my students with a classroom environment where Mental Health can come in a simple break from the routine. The Legos will be used for mental health breaks throughout the year and provide classroom beauty and language learning. I am passionate about using hands-on activities to create positive mental health in the classroom to further engage them and inspire them to be Spanish Speaking superheroes!
