"Mrs. G." a student says, "Please don't ring the bell. I am almost done with my work!" I reply, "It is time to go out to recess and get some fresh air." Then come the words that I love to hear, "But I don't want to stop working!" My goal is to create a classroom where students love to learn, aren't afraid to make mistakes while learning and growing, and have courage while trying new ways to help their brains grow.
As a teacher I want to be able to provide my students with all kinds of tools to help them feel success in school.
Our school rarely receives extra funding for programs or supplies. My sixth grade students deserve to have more hands on supplies in the classroom to help them find different ways to learn and remember what they are learning.
My Project
My classroom is a place where I love to promote and enhance creative opportunities for my sixth grade students. We all learn differently. These Lego materials will help me foster a creative environment for learning. I will be able to use the Legos to help with my students' curiosity, and ignite thinking and problem solving. The creativity will be never ending!
My students will learn to collaborate with other classmates while building, creating, and learning.
Why can't a classroom be fun? The Legos will help me integrate verbal and visual skill development with my sixth grade students. We will use them with Social Studies and English Language Arts. It will help them find a connection to some subject areas that sometimes need a little spice added to them.
