This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The LEGO Duplo sets will give my students the opportunity to engage in STEAM activities. Students will combine the LEGO Duplo bricks to build their own animals, theme parks, buildings, and any other thing they may imagine. They will collaborate with their peers, problem-solve, communicate with each other, and have fun all at the same time.
My students will use the Duplo bricks to practice sentence frames in English and Spanish.
They will also be able to build designs and practice describing their designs to their partners while their partners are not looking at the original build. This will promote student engagement and will help students improve their description skills and listening skills. The Bluetooth speaker will facilitate learning by giving them access to engaging presentations, videos, and collaborative activities in class. The speaker will also support students as they practice dance or music lessons.
