My students come from a variety of cultures and have different levels of science skills. There are over twenty languages spoken at my school, but science can become a common language for all my scientists-in-training. The school is part of the International Baccalaureate program, which seeks to integrate multiple disciplines in order to provide a holistic learning environment for all students.
My monthly budget to plan science activities, labs, and projects is $0.50 per student.
This fact makes it difficult to plan satisfying, hands-on activities which engage all students and foster their love for learning. Any help received through this website would ensure students are exposed to multiple, true learning opportunities which introduce students to STEAM - science, technology, engineering, arts and math.
My Project
The Lego WeDo kits requested for this project will help my students deepen their scientific knowledge. Through this project, my students will be able to get introduced to coding in a new and exciting way, engaging their minds and hands.
The most significant advantage of the WeDo Kits is that they help middle school students grown and develop their creative thinking and problem solving skills.
As the students engage in the planned activities, they will mold their own future through the effective, structured and curriculum based approach to learning.
As students explore areas outside their comfort zone, the Lego sets will help them develop a better understanding of science and coding, grow their ideas, and make their own creations through playful learning experiences
