Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in the low-income, mid-city district of Los Angeles. My students come to school every day and we have the highest attendance for a Title I/low-income school with a population of about 700 plus students. My students are a rambunctious, beautiful bunch of kids with so much life, love, and learning to be had. They deserve everything the world has to offer and more! I am so proud of them, every step of the way! They are happy learners with smiles and excitement all day!
My Project
My Transitional Kindergarteners will be building different things throughout the school year depending on the unit or topic we are studying.
They will build places in our community as well as associate the community helpers that work in those places with the mini figures.
They will also be building streets and parades and pretend to build parades that go along with celebrations and the Winter. Furthermore, they will build farms and barns and pretend play when we learn about the farm this school year. At the end of the school year they will be using these legos to build the highest buildings and towers when we learn about pushes and pulls in science.
