LEGO Prime Time for Computer Science and Careers!

My Project

My kids are hands-on, curious, and interested in computers and LEGO! These kits allow students to explore Computer Science basics as well as different career options through the LEGO education lesson plans.

This project will provide two kits, enough for 4 students to put their hands on devices designed to help make the connection between software and hardware!

SPIKE Prime combines LEGO building with block-based coding, giving students a tangible way to see how software controls hardware. This physical connection helps reinforce abstract computer science concepts. They work in Scratch and can transition to Python. This allows both beginners and those ready for more advanced challenges to be successful and develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and higher-order thinking skills.

Many of the SPIKE Prime activities are designed for groups, helping students practice communication and project management skills essential in STEM careers. It also provides engaging, open-ended, solutions-oriented activities to help foster creativity, along with the technical learning required to be successful in multiple career fields.
