Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at our school LOVE technology. They get so excited when I come into their rooms to teach a variety of technology/STEAM lessons. Many of them have such creative minds and a determination to problem solve.
My students are extremely dedicated to learning.
We're working to maintain and strengthen our school community in which students learn to trust one another, set goals, and achieve great things! I'm passionate about helping these students to learn and grow as individuals by encouraging them to reach for the stars.
Our students come from a variety of diverse backgrounds, economically and ethnically. Some students have access to technology at home, but most of them lack the resources that would propel their technology/coding skills further.
I truly appreciate anything you can do to support the students in our school.
My Project
These materials will strengthen the STEM initiative in our school. I would love my students to get their hands on 2 Ozobot Evos and LEGOs to complete STEM activities. They love to take a break from the traditional computer programs and interact with robots and play with LEGOs.
Students will program their Ozobot Evos to move, make noise, and flash lights.
They will use Blockly to code their Evos to make them do tricks and travel on maps.
Students will also use the LEGOs to build objects and show off their creativity. My kindergartners will use the LEGOs to build letters of the alphabet during technology.
