Our fifth grade is composed of about 90 amazing students, many of whom come from bilingual households and receive free or reduced price lunch. I have the privilege of teaching all 90 students. Our school serves students in grades K-5 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment.

My students come to school ready to learn despite any obstacles in their way. They are enthusiastic, creative, and they can make a difference in the world even if they don't know it yet.
My Project
Students will work in groups to build with K'NEX and LEGOs while collaborating with their peers. This will be a makerspace event along side additional digital materials allowing all students to participate. The two LEGO packets will allow 2-6 students working together solving problems and creating a designed robotic using their engineering skills learned through school.
As students build they develop skills and reinforce creativity, engineering, technology, science, and mathematic strategies.
Students will have a makerspace set up throughout the class allowing students to rotate from coding, LEGO building, and K'NEX robotics. All students will have opportunity to use the materials provided.
