Help me give my students opportunity to BEGIN buid STEM projects utilizing LEGOS.
This project expired on April 20, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Have you ever wondered what absolute contentment looks like? It is my face as I enter the halls of my quaint neighborhood school that time has forgotten. I love walking into my pod and hearing students excited for learning. My class is made up of some of the most creative, inspiring students a teacher could ask for. They are full of questions and discussions.
Although our building is older (1989), every day is a brand new adventure.
Whether we are solving crimes for narrative writing or designing chicken coops with our imaginations, once you step into our pod, you are transported to a whole new world.
Our class has embraced Problem Based Learning Projects and are like ducks to water, my students recently created more environmentally friendly vehicles, unfortunately their projects could only be completed so far due to lack of building materials or solar panel examples. They created this incredible prototypes but were unable to power them. I would love for our next opportunity to include Lego STEM solar panels, alternative fueling examples and simple machines to allow my students this ability.
Through PBLS my students’ have an understanding of some fairly advanced concepts related to science and engineering, not to mention research, composition, art and presentation skills.
