This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are life-long learners in a bilingual community. The students learn core subjects in two different languages, Spanish and English.

My students love working with technology integration!

They enjoy accessing the web under the Google classroom suite and expressing their unique ideas with their peers, teachers, and parents. My students love learning and go above and beyond expectations set for them. They are also very creative and expressive and enjoy using tablets for all learning tasks and assessments given.

My Project

My kids like to tell each other what to do. They also love to feel like they are in charge. My class has strong leadership skills that need to be developed and re-directed. My goal is to teach them to code because coding is telling a computer, app, phone or website what you want it to do.

Coding helps kids develop academic skills, build qualities like perseverance and organization, and gain valuable 21st century skills.

I need tablets with cases for coding, programming, and downloading apps to create video games such as Minecraft, Scratch, and Daisy the Dinosaur.

My students love to play video games. I want them to see and experience for themselves the science and technology behind making a video game. The Lego pieces allows the kids to design the characters for their game and upload using the LEGO Boost app. The LEGO BOOST Creative Toolbox offers building instructions for five different robots in one set. Each robot is built with a battery box, Bluetooth, motion, touch and color sensors, and you use an app to program its actions: This simplifies the method of coding for my 1st graders.
