Help me give my students the world of imagination in their center times.

My Students
I teach at a Title I school in Winston-Salem, NC. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. Most of my students have not been to preschool or daycare. This means that they come in my classroom door already behind other students. Most of them need an extreme amount of love and learning. Most of my students do not know how to write their names and many have never seen a book. I love seeing these students when they are given a book for the first time. Their eyes light up to this new "adventure."
My Project
With Legos students can use their imaginations for community and building fun. They can learn about the world around them while they play in centers. They will have different community people in the Lego sets to learn about and link back to their neighborhood. It will help their imaginations even if they do not have that community people readily available to them. They can learn about those community workers that work in different towns or cities. This would also help them to start thinking about what the would like to do when they grow up. For example, they might learn o fa firefighter that works in the city. We may only have volunteer firefighter, They would lean that they to can grow to be a paid firefighter.
