My students need some materials (base plates, building bricks, Legos) so they can have a space to build, create, and interact. With these Lego products, students will have the ability to work together and create new ideas.

My Students
I teach amazing, enthusiastic middle school students who live in a small, rural area in Wisconsin. These young men and women enter my room with a strong desire to learn that I try to nurture. I am trying to find alternative seating for my students, so they are not having to sit at a table or desk all day long.
I think if students had an outlet for movement and creativity, I think this will encourage them to focus throughout their lessons.
Even though almost half of my students come from low-income families, their desire to learn is never-ending! My students are accepting of others, active, and kind.
My Project
I would like to create a Lego area where my students can explore and create both individually and cooperatively using an assortment of pieces.
I am planning to make an area that students can build and explore with Legos after their work is complete.
I plan to use the top of my bookshelf as the place where students can work together.
I am trying to find ways to reach all of my learners, and having an area such as this in my classroom will encourage their participation and creativity. These materials will help me create a unique area for students to enjoy!
