Help me give my students Legos to develop fine motor, community building, sharing, imagination, math and literacy skills! It is truly amazing how much legos and hands on activities help our kiddos!
My students come from a wide variety of social and economic backgrounds. I have made it my priority to create a loving and welcoming classroom community where each child feels important and valued every day.
My students are full of curiosity, eager to learn, explore, question, and build relationships.
It is important they are shown examples of positive social and emotional interactions and coping strategies. Early childhood sets the foundation for each child's education and is each child begins to figure out who they are and how to express their feelings, needs, and wants. It is also the year in which early literacy and mathematical skills are taught and a firm foundation is laid, so each child can become a lifelong learner. Students continue to develop their fine motor and gross motor skills during play based lessons and activities. Lessons are hands-on and engaging to ensure each child learns in the way that is best for them.
My Project
My fabulous first graders love hands on learning. They would love the various sets of Legos for STEM, math, literacy, imaginative learning! While building together they would also build their social and emotional skills, and learn how to share and work together.
"Creativity is the secret sauce to science, engineering, technology and math." -Ainissa Ramirez, Science Evangelist.
I am true believer in hands on learning and know these legos will not only be fun for my kiddos, but will be utilized for STEM lessons when we create turkey traps, for math when we practice addition/subtraction and literacy when we retell and identify various story elements!
