My Students

Hi! I am one of the teachers that work in our adaptive curriculum classrooms. We currently have 2 classrooms. We serve students with an array of abilities and disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities.

Our school is located in a rural area, with the largest population of students who receive free or reduced-cost lunch in our county.

Our students range in ages of 5-12 years old. Our students are visual and tactile learners, and learn best when using their hands with manipulative.

My Project

We will use these LEGO learning blocks in a variety of ways as a resource within our classrooms. Students will be able to use these within their different ability levels. In math we will use them to count, measure, add, subtract and graphing. Within language arts we will use them for letter recognition, word building and forming sentences. Lastly, they will be able to use their creativity each day!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve student attention and focus, but you will also ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
