Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school located in a predominately Hispanic and African American neighborhood. My students are excited to learn, create, and express themselves through artistic experimentation. While they may be short on funds, they have an abundance of creativity and imagination.
My Project
These LEGO sets will provide my kinder through fifth grade students with the opportunity to use their hand eye coordination, think in three dimensions, utilize spatial reasoning and analysis, and create unique and creative structures in a collaborative setting. These supplies will allow me to incorporate a building station in my art room that will provide early finishers with a fun, creative, engaging, and extremely imaginative activity. This will also bring students, who may not normally socialize with one another, together and allow them to find common ground through educational play.
