Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Utilizing the Orton Gilliam approach, the intervention will incorporate legos to increase the student’s engagement and kinesthetic learning. Each child will be initially assessed to gather baseline data that will drive current and future instruction within the enrichment class..Not only will student’s build words with legos, the instructor will develop a Children's story through AI design that incorporates the Orton Gilliam Red Sight words.
With the Brick Scan App the scanner can find pieces of characters in the story for the children to build.
The children will target sequencing skills by following the steps of the build, which will help generalize what they have learned when they are learning to sequence sounds to read. In addition to the course, each child will be able to design their own minifigure to take home.
