Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a very diverse set of homes, some with access to a variety of technology and many with access to nothing at home.
I have many students that have a desire to further what they are learning in the classroom and a desire to try new things.
Our robotics program is an extracurricular program that our students love to participate in during lunch and after school. We have a variety of students that participate in this program.
My Project
Our students have been using NXT LEGO brains that have been out of date for the past couple of years. They want to be able to compete against other schools using the latest and greatest EV3 LEGO technology.
Our students have made it to the finals competition using the out of date brains and I believe they could win a competition with the newer robots.
At our school we do not have a class time for the students to program and practice for the competitions. These students work hard to program their robots by coming in during lunch and staying after school to be successful. They love showing off their creativity and have fun doing it!
