This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second graders are creative, risk takers full of questions. They love learning through the use of technology, hands-on activities and real world scenarios. They've developed a growth mindset that transcends many of the daily challenges they face. These kids are amazing. They come to school each day with smiles and a desire; they want to learn.

Our school mission is to deliver excellence in education for the entire school community, advancing the ability to make informed decisions and think critically.

Each child in my classroom abides by our mission statement. They come each day, ready to learn, in a positive environment that praises their growth and effort. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies such as flexible seating and we incorporate technology and movement. My students are a truly remarkable group of life long-learners ready and excited to learn every day!

My Project

My 20 students are young explorers ready to explore the arts and sciences beyond our curriculum. The materials requested will allow my students to think outside the box while building real world scenarios through the use of LEGO bricks. This will also increase their "I can" attitude and self confidence as they face trial and errors through the projects.

My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given an opportunity to explore their own interest in the classroom.

The LEGO brick set and the Robot Turtle Game will allow my students to explore STEM activities not found in our day to day curriculum. Such an experience will allow them to become well rounded life long learners.
