This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach math and science to 3rd-grade students at a Title I campus. My students love to learn new things; technology being number 1 on that list.
Most of my students are second language learners.
Ninety percent of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
Their parents work two and three jobs to take care of them. They want their children to have so much more than they have. Education is extremely important. By sharing technology with my students, I show them that there is a future in education.
My Project
During this new type of learning, distance learning, I've been lucky to have access to premium accounts of Legends of Learning and Go Formative. Unfortunately, these memberships will be ending when school lets out. I would love to be able to continue using these programs over the summer for my students to continue their education.
As we also begin to think about the start of the new year, distance learning is still in the back of all teacher's heads.
I would love to have these services for my future 3rd graders. It would be helpful for them to begin using these programs in preparation for future closings. These 2 programs have helped my students continue their learning in a fun way. They look forward to using these programs.
