Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Towards the end of the school year, supplies run low. As we work on final projects my students would love some fresh and exciting colors of paint as we work on creating projects that will leave a lasting mark on our school. Our scissors have also seen a lot of use and no longer cut fabric as well as we would like. These supplies are crucial to creating legacy projects that will benefit our school Wildcat Sanctuary.
The Wildcat Sanctuary is a safe space for students to work with counselors or small groups of peers in a calming focused environment.
Our Legacy Projects will create a more welcoming environment for students. Projects will include large paintings to create a peaceful setting on wall panels, wood boards that will create a calm mood in the outdoor garden, and stuffed animals for distressed students to cuddle. Students will work with a team to determine what they want to create and how it will benefit future students. The focus is on using your art skills to create positive experiences for others.
