Leemos en espanol - Reading Books in Spanish

My students need Spanish books that are motivating for them in order to learn a new language. I included also song books that can show them part of the Hispanic culture.

My Students

Hablamos espanol. This is a wonderful way of starting our story!

We are a Title 1 school, we have half of our day in Spanish, we enjoy learning a new language although sometimes it is not as easy as speaking in English!

We are on first grade and we are 51 students who will enjoy having the opportunity of reading in Spanish. We share our Spanish teacher between the two classes.

My Project

This is my second year teaching in the States. I am from Spain and I really enjoy teaching and giving my students the opportunity of learning another language and culture. Knowing another language is a fantastic advantage for their future and open their minds to other ways of living. It makes them curious about other realities. I started learning English when I was a kid and I know exactly how my students feel but I hope all this work will give them the opportunity to live in other countries or even to transmit their culture to other people in the world...who knows maybe they will be teaching one day abroad? Thanks for your support!

You will make a difference on my students by giving them the opportunity of knowing more about the culture of the language they are learning by using books that match their interest, books they know (Dr.Seuss, Eric Carle), classic tales, books for starting reading and songs all of it in Spanish.

It would be great to have this opportunity with them!
