Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When students support others, they learn empathy and help their own mental wellness at the same time! An important question in our Legacy advisory class, is how will you leave a legacy? How can you positively impact our school and community? This class focuses on at-risk students, teaching them a leadership curriculum and promoting a sense of inclusion and safety. This will help them to achieve in their academic classes, and to also work on developing empathy, teamwork skills, and empowering them to help others.

This Legacy class project will impact our school and community by increasing positivity and acknowledging important people in their lives.

We will paint rocks with positive messages, create thank you cards, paint canvases and flower planters with thank you messages for teacher/counselor/nurse/admin appreciation days. Students will journal about the impact that their actions have on themselves and others. We will organize our project in the classroom in totes and folders.
