My school is truly a gem! Our students have to apply to our school because of the unique learning opportunities that are available. We’re a very small school in which I’m able to know each and every student and their family. It’s what makes learning one that all stakeholders are invested in the well being of our school. I know I’m partial, but my school is truly the best school ever! My students become my kids.
My students are 11th graders who are ready to take on the world and find their path in life.
My Project
The aspect of cellphones being used in the classroom has become a hot topic in the world of academia. Yes, students have cell phones. Yes, they are always checking it. Yes, if implemented properly, cellphones cane become effective tools used in the classroom.
I want my students to get out their phones leave it on the table, recharge it, and be ready to learn in English class.
Focus on English class and less on their phone power. In order to eliminate the number of students asking to borrow a charger so they can play Kahoot or to have enough battery power to last them throughout the day, I would like to incorporate a "Charging Station" in the front of my classroom.
As a part of their charging station, I have a coffee-bar in my classroom that they are able to use and I am in need of creamer for their usage. So, my students will not only be able to charge their phones and be focused on learning, but they will also be able to charge their minds with coffee or tea and add in the creamers needed to keep them going for the rest of the day.
