My Students

WDE is a diverse school with a wide range of socioeconomic levels/cultures and backgrounds. We have also become a school with a high level of ESL students over the past 5 years and as a staff are working and developing ourselves to meet the needs of these students and there families. In order to do this we focus heavy on a project based learning approach where all our students are able to work with one another through hands on discovery learning.

My Project

During the start of the 2017-18 school year the students at our school participated in a national competition put on by Khan Academy called Learnstorm. There were over 19000 schools what competed and we were able take home one of the top prizes.

This prize came with a 5000 dollar donation to DonorsChoose which is allowing us to fund this project.

We are ordering a significant amount of tech to update some of our computers. We are also going to order LCD notebooks in order to try something out that we know will never be approved for purchase in a standard school budget.
