This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am teaching technology! I am teaching classes from PK-5th. While I'm teaching an array of grades, most of the classes are from PK-5th Grade. The majority of the students in the school are Hispanic/Latino and many of them speak in Spanish when they are at home.

This year majority of our students are joining classes remotely from their houses to stay safe through this epidemic we are in.

With economic disadvantages, all students are receiving both breakfast and lunch in school.

My Project

In this project, I am asking for wireless headphones that are meant to reduce any background noises! With all the changes in our learning, I am now teaching students in the building and at home virtually. With little time to spare, I am often walking around the building with my laptop open as my lessons end with one class and I head to a live session with others. It is often frustrating and distracting for students to have background noise in our lessons.

Having noise-canceling headphones will be extremely helpful to my students, in that they will be able to start having an easier time focusing on what is being said by me without all the background noises.

We are currently in the middle of our Digital Safety unit where we are learning all about cyberbullying and staying safe online. Being able to deliver these critical lessons to our learners will directly support their emotional and social interactions in this digital world! Having noise-canceling headphones will enable my students at home to engage in our discussions and activities effectively with limited distractions from noises around me in the school.

Strong communication during these times is so important for our at-home learners as they have been isolated enough in a physical sense. Limiting the noise they hear around me while we engage in our virtual lessons, will assure them that when we are will let them know when we are logged on together they have my undivided attention.
