Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are amazing and eager learners. This is a K/1 Autism Self Contained program at a Title 1 school. My students range from fully age appropriate verbal skills to non-verbal and learning to use AAC devices.

The items in this project help provide the students with interactive and hands on materials for learning.

Board books, dry erase markers and bean bag chairs all provide new approaches to learning. Board books allow exploration of literature without risk of damage to the materials. Dry erase markers can sometimes allow for a student that struggles with paper and pencil to be able to express themselves in an easier method. Bean bag chairs provide an alternative seating option to address sensory needs.
