My Project

Imagine the whirlwind of change a sixth grader experiences. They're no longer the "big kids" of elementary school, but they're not quite teenagers either. This pivotal year is filled with academic and social-emotional shifts, and my students need the right tools to navigate this transition successfully.

My sixth-grade classroom is a place where we strive to nurture both academic growth and emotional well-being.

However, we're currently facing a shortage of resources that would significantly enhance our learning environment.

Our Project Goals:

This project aims to provide my students with essential resources to support their academic and social-emotional development during this crucial transition year. Specifically, we need:

A Reliable Printer and Paper:

This will allow us to print worksheets, SEL activities, and project materials directly in the classroom, ensuring all students have equitable access to learning resources.

It will also enable us to create personalized resources and provide immediate feedback on student work.

Play Dough:

Play dough is more than just a toy. It's a powerful tool for stress relief, sensory exploration, and creative expression.

It will provide a hands-on outlet for students to manage anxiety and develop fine motor skills.

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Materials:

These materials will include resources like mindfulness cards, emotion identification charts, and conflict resolution guides.

They will empower students to develop self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making

These materials will help students understand and navigate the changes they are experiencing.
